Civil and Administrative Tribunals

NCAT | VCAT | QCAT | ACAT | SACAT | TASCAT | SAT | NTCAT

Household building works don’t always go to plan. Clear resolutions are not always possible without taking matters to an arbitrator. Each Australian state has its own Civil and Administrative Tribunal to raise disputes on contractual matters, defective or incomplete work.

For waterproofing works, Waterproofing Integrity are able to assist with varying levels of involvement to assist in proceedings for builders, asset owners or other related stakeholders. From a desktop review of works to onsite inspections and testing to expert witness proceedings there are varying levels of engagement that we can offer subject to the situation and requirements.

Stages of CAT proceedings we can assist

Each situation is different and there can be varying requirements. With that, we can assist with some or all of the below stages for managing disputes. The nominated Stages 2 and 3 do incur a fee whereas Stages 4 and 5 are engagements that come with a fee expected of providing expert witness documentation.

01

Assess

We review your project scope, drawings and specifications to understand exactly where waterproofing risk sits and how Waterproofing Integrity can assist.

02

Inspect

On-site inspections to understand works that have been carried out with potential testing where available.

03

Situation Report

A report capturing findings and reference to Australian Standards, National Construction Code and how installation aligns and potential courses of action for rectification.

04

CAT Report

Detailed, defensible reports give you the documentation you need for arbitrators and interested parties to understand the situation.

05

Litigation

We can be available through litigation and court proceedings as an expert witness to interpret and deliberate the outcome to achieve effective resolution.
