Many of these considerations for the ease of use for residents contradicts the waterproofing Standards and best practice. Despite that, there are ways to ensure practical outcomes that meet the performance requirements of the National Construction Code when it comes to providing effective access and meeting the considerations for waterproofing compliance.

Ensuring flush transitions between internal and external areas; having appropriate shower access and bathroom design layouts, and; providing landscaped areas to engage in are consistent features within modern aged care facilities. Whether that is a new site, refurbishing existing assets or redeveloping current assets, Waterproofing Integrity work on dozens of new aged care projects each year.
